To get the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle, you could start by getting involved in an activity that appeals to you and fits into your daily routine. The goal is to slowly increase your levels of activity. Studies show that people who start with the lowest levels of activity accrue the greatest health benefits. Try to incorporate some activity into your day, such as walking to public transport or walking to the local shops instead of taking the car .

You are full of good intentions when it comes to physical activity but most of the time you find it hard to act on them. Set some realistic goals to get you going and plan what you will do and when you will do it. Find yourself a buddy to exercise with or seek the support of a trusted health professional such as your GP. Once you start, you’ll discover that it gives you real rewards.
