[私教技能] 私人教练规范

Thepersonaltrainingmanagerisultimatelyresponsibleforthesafetyandcustomersatisfactionofeverypersonaltrainingclient.Therefore,itisnecessarytosetstandardsfordeliveringpersonaltrainingservicesinamannerthatisconsistentwithindustrystandardsforsafetyandthatwillensurethatexcellentcustomerserviceisconsistentlydelivered.Herearesomeguidelinesforsettingthedepartment’sservicestandards:
1.
Personal Trainers must give their undivided attention to their clients (1).This means that PersonalTrainers must watch clients at all times and spot exercises with appropriate techniques.Policy pa-rameters should be specific.Talking on cell phones,talking with other Personal Trainers or othermembers,and watching TV monitors are examples of unacceptable behaviors that would notmeet training standards.In addition,a Personal Trainer who spends much of the training sessiontalking about his or her personal affairs will have difficulty focusing fully on the client’s workoutand exercise technique (1).

The Personal Trainer must begin training sessions on time and end training sessions on time,andrespect the training client’s time and schedule.
3.
There should be a dress standard for the department’s Personal Trainers.If possible,Personal Train-ers should wear a shirt with a facility logo and the words “Personal Trainer.”The shirt,along with
established standards for pants and shoes,will ensure a professional look for the personal trainingdepartment,while also providing advertising to other members.4.The Personal Trainer should keep written documentation of every client’s workout as well as anymeasurements,tests,and performance tracking for that client (1).The personal training depart-ment manager should provide a standardized “training card”for Personal Trainers to use.Thereshould be a designated training file in which the training cards are kept that is accessible to boththe training client and other Personal Trainers.If a client wants to work out without the PersonalTrainer or another Personal Trainer needs to cover a training session because of illness or vaca-tion,the training cards are readily available.5.A client confidentiality policy should be maintained.Personal Trainers should be reminded thatthey should never discuss any client’s personal information with others.Personal Trainers mustrespect their clients’privacy and be trustworthy (1).6.Honesty and scope of practice standards should be emphasized.If a Personal Trainer does not knowthe answer to a client’s health- or fitness-related questions,the Personal Trainer needs to admit thathe or she does not have that information.The Personal Trainer can volunteer to research the topicand provide an answer at the next training session.Ifthe client is asking for medical advice or a diagnosis,the Personal Trainer must not overstep his or herscope of practice but should explain that the clientneeds to consult a physician for that information (1).Ideally,the Personal Trainer should establish a net-work of allied healthcare professionals through whichreferrals can be made to physicians,physical therapists,dieticians,and other experts.7.Personal Trainers must maintain personal training certifications,CPR certification,and liabilityinsurance,if it is not provided by the fitness facility.Records of certification and professional li-ability insurance should be kept in employee files (2
