For the last 5,000 years yoga has been shown to ease anxiety and depression, lower blood pressure, improve joint mobility, and relieve pain and enhance the spirit. But it's also good at improving women's sexuality.
According to The Journal of Sexual Medicine (Nov. 12, 2009), regular yoga practice improves several aspects of sexual function in women, including desire, arousal, orgasm, and overall satisfaction.
22 yoga poses, or asanas were identified to have positive effects on abdominal and pelvic muscle tone, digestion, joint function, and mood. Example poses were the triangle pose, the snake, and the half spinal twist.
The outcomes of practicing yoga by women in the study were: increased desire, faster arousal, better lubrication, orgasm, less pain, and overall satisfaction, particularly among women over age 45.
